POSITION PURPOSEThe MRI Technologist is responsible for planning, organizing and performing MRI scans to ensure quality patient care. The MRI Tech conveys a positive image of the clinic and exhibits values of respect, integrity, innovation, and compassion. The MRI Technologist works under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Imaging & Radiation Services and Medical Director of Radiation Oncology & Imaging. SUMMARYAll employees are expected to perform their duties and alignment with policies and procedures and Mission, Values, and Vision of Beverly Hills Cancer Center ("BHCC"). The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction with respect and dignity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Prepares room and equipment for all patients according to physician orders. 2. Transfers patients safely to treatment table by physically assisting them, giving special care to catheters, IV drips, etc. 3. Works with patient coordinators to appropriately schedule MRI procedures relative to the condition and needs of the patient. 4. Maintains order and cleanliness of the MRI work area. 5. Directly responsible for daily evaluation of equipment and scheduling of repair and maintenance. 6. Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record and health care providers. Verifies the procedure requested or prescribed and reconfirms patient identification. 7. Reviews charges daily for correct coding on diagnosis coding. 8. Responsible for ensuring staff compliance in license renewal, continuing education, orientation and re-orientation. 9. Communicates to Optima Diagnostic Imaging, Billing Dept, Administration and BHCC staff and outside facilities in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner. Communicates in an accurate and clear manner to share pertinent information. Is concise in both written and verbal information. 10. Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals and related material and by attending seminars, conferences, etc. 11. Ensure scanner is cleaned at all times.
