Job Description:
As a private, academic facility, Beverly Hills Cancer Center not
only provides state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer treatment
modalities all under one roof (including chemotherapy radiation
therapy, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and more), but also
leading clinical trials and research for cancer, which are offered
at very few centers in the world, attracting patients globally, and
saving lives. By providing access to groundbreaking clinical
trials, the Beverly Hills Cancer Center offers patients the
opportunity to participate in the most advanced cancer treatments
currently in development in the world. As an example, we were
instrumental and the first center in the world to do clinical
trials for immunotherapy for skin cancer. Position Purpose The
PET-CT Technologist is responsible for providing PET/CT scans for
the patients as prescribed by the referring physician according to
established policies and procedures and ensuring quality and
compassionate patient care. The PET-CT Technologist works under the
general supervision of the Radiologist, Supervisor of Imaging &
Radiation Services, and Medical Director of Radiation Oncology &
Imaging. Qualifications --- 2+ years industry experience ---

continued education DETAILED SUMMARY All employees are expected to

person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that
lead to a high level of customer satisfaction with respect and
dignity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Delivers a prescribed and planned
course of PET/CT procedures to patients; answers patient questions
and explains procedures under the supervision of the physician. 2.
Verifies the procedure ordered or prescribed and reconfirms patient
identification patient documentation in the electronic chart at the
initiation of treatment to ensure accurate patient care. 3.
Reinforces recommendations given to patients by the physician,
nurse, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care
of the radiated area and prevention or treatment of generalized and
local side effects. Observe the patient for any unusual reactions
or events. 4. Prepares room and equipment for patients and work
with responsible staff to ensure proper supplies are in stock. 5.
Directly responsible for daily evaluation of equipment and
scheduling of repair and maintenance. 6. Reviews charges daily for
correct diagnosis coding. 7. Responsible for ensuring compliance in
license renewal, continuing education, orientation, and
re-orientation. 8. Serves as a role model/consultant to staff
demonstrating clinical competence and a sound knowledge base in the
provision of quality patient care. 9. Maintains knowledge of trends
and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles,
journals, and related material and by attending seminars,
conferences, etc. 10. Ensure the scanner is clean at all times.
ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTIONS 1. Be compliant with organizational
policies and procedures and related departmental procedures. 2.
Follow all HIPAA regulations as outlined in the HIPAA Policy and
Procedure Manual. 3. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing
related results as needed. 4. Excellent customer service skills for
both inter and intra departments. 5. Ability to maintain a high
level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning financial and
employee files. 6. Maintain a clean safe working environment. 7.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. 8. Other general
administrative duties and projects as assigned. EDUCATION
CERTIFICATION ARRT Registration CRT CPR State of California CT
certificate (preferred) State of California Nuclear Medicine
certificate State of California Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
certificate EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years of professional PET/CT
