Job DescriptionAssistant Spa ManagerJob Purpose:The Assistant Manager of Spa is responsible for the management and day to day operations of the spa and for the department's development of long term directions, in support of the hotel's, Mission and Values; including profitable financial management, effective leadership, excellent customer service skills, and supervision of department requirements and standards. The Assistant Director of Spa must possess strong business and organizational skills as well as have creative energies and the ability to motivate and inspire a talented and diverse spa team. Must possess exceptional skills in running a spa operation in a city hotel environment.Role and Responsibilities:Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to: *Create a supportive and professional environment that consistently delivers a spa experience that exceeds guest and associate expectations.*Assist with the screening and selection of all qualified spa candidates, communicating performance expectations, providing associates with ongoing feedback, mentoring, and conducting official performance reviews.*Provide colleagues with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives to reach their fullest potential. *Oversee operations in the spa department including Massage, Skincare, Nails, Salon, Guest Reception, Locker Rooms, Spa Retail, Spa Membership, and the Fitness Center. *Develop and monitor financial strategies to increase revenues while controlling operating expenses, monitoring annual budget and forecasts, reviewing monthly financial statements, utilizing yield management strategies, implementing inventory management and purchasing procedures, as well as monitoring and adjusting staffing levels, spa service appointments, and operational expenses, to maximize spa profitability. *Develop and enforce standard operating systems, to ensure the facility is maintained to luxury spa standards. *Train colleagues with Forbes Five Star standards.*Assist in administrative duties such as schedules, payroll, forecasting, and hosting operational and departmental meetings. *All positions may perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs that may be outside the scope of normal duties. Qualifications and Education Requirements: *4-6 years of spa experience; 3 years in a leadership role.*Bachelor's Degree, or similar work experience.*Excellent organizational and time management skills. *Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur.Preferred Skills:*Book4time knowledge preferred. *Spa experience.Physical and Working Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the colleague must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer, copy machine, printer, etc.
  • Constantly communicates with vendors, clients, and staff members, therefore must be able to communicate, converse with, and exchange information
  • Must be able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize and assess from long distances
    • Light to moderate lifting is required
    • Ability to uphold the stress of traveling
    • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, and printers, light traffic).
    • Ability to work in a confined area.
    • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
    • Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
    • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
      • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
