This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. The
Designated Subjects Teacher Pool (Secondary Level) is for
assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are currently in
the 2025-2026 Designated Subjects Teacher Pool (Secondary Level) ,
you must submit a completed application to be considered for a
position in the 2026-2027 school year. OVERVIEW: San Diego Unified

POSITION SPECIFICS: The Designated Subjects Teacher Pool (Secondary
Level) is for assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. The San
Diego Unified School District accepts applications for the
Designated Subjects Teachers at the secondary level on a continuous
basis for regular full-time and part-time assignments. The
Designated Subject Teacher Pool is for individuals who hold a
designated subjects credential or who are eligible for a designated
subjects credential and wish to teach a Career Technical Education
course at a secondary school. This is a continuous recruitment
which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list.
Candidates that do not wish to be considered for regular
full-time/part-time positions should apply to the substitute
teacher pool to be considered for temporary assignments. Available
subjects, also known as industry sectors, are: Arts, Media, and
Entertainment Building and Construction Trades Business and Finance
Education, Child Development, and Family Services Energy,
Environment, and Utilities Engineering and Architecture Health
Science and Medical Technology Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation
Information and Communication Technologies Manufacturing and
Product Development Marketing, Sales, and Service Public Services
Transportation MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Credential Requirements A
valid teaching credential in a specific industry sector. Candidates
eligible for a designated subjects credential may be considered.

have not applied for a California teaching credential, you must
hold a Certificate of Clearance prior to applying for your
credential. Visit the CCTC website for more information. Education
A Bachelor's Degree with a major in the subject named on the
credential. Experience Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and
specialized experience in the field such as research and
professional activities is desirable. Three years of experience
working with pupils at the secondary level is desired. APPLICATION

will be considered incomplete if you do not include all required

References should be from a current or previous supervisor. We will

screening process of this application. Written reference letters
dated within the last year are also accepted and may be attached to

information for all previous places of employment must be listed
under the 'Employment History' section of the application (Assembly
Bill 2534). As of January 1, 2025, in accordance with Education
Code section 44939.5 (as amended by California AB 2534) applicants
for certificated positions are required by law to provide a
complete list of every school district, county office of education,
charter school and/or state special school with which you have
previously been employed, regardless of the length of service.
Required documents must be attached to the online employment
application to be considered. All application questions should be
answered thoroughly, clearly, and concisely as the responses
provided (along with the entire application package) will be
carefully reviewed to determine which candidates will move forward
in the recruitment process. Please complete the online application
to include all current and previous paid work history and
education. Indicate on the application if you have unpaid volunteer
or internship experience. The length of time you worked in each
position or assignment must be clearly shown. A resume may be
attached, but not substituted for completing the work history,
education sections, or the supplemental questions of the employment

application from further consideration. Examination Process Click

process will consist of an application screening based on the
candidate's education, work history and responses to the

for candidates who are selected to proceed in the examination
process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not
guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the
examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination
process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the
examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period
