To execute our mission, Avenue Homes is seeking a Project Accountant who prides themselves on their financial and analytical prowess. This person will play a key role on our fast-growing multi-family investment and development team. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to real estate development, construction accounting and investor reporting. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.Responsibilities:--- Analyze and maintain the job cost sub-ledger, including processing and recording journal entries for job cost allocations, accruals, capitalization and transfers to fixed assets.--- Work closely with the construction team on contract commitment, change requests, budget revisions, change orders, anticipated costs, and budget variance reports to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.--- Prepare and analyze the financial statements, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and budgets.--- Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintain a schedule of all balance sheet accounts.--- Reconcile, verify, and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts.--- Assist in managing working capital, including weekly project cash report updates and initiating and recording transfers/wires.--- Assemble, submit, and track draws for equity funding or loan draw.--- Adhere to daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadline requirements.--- Contribute to developing accounting procedures and strategies to improve record-keeping, investor reporting, and project management.--- Perform ad-hoc reportingQualifications:--- Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred--- Experience - 3 to 5 years accounting in the real estate development and/or construction industry--- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records--- Advanced Excel skills--- Proficient in QuickBooks--- Proficient in MS Office 365--- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills--- Deadline and detail-orientedBenefits & Compensation:--- Salary range $70-85k depending on experience--- Annual reviews and raises--- Annual bonus based on company profitability and annual review (pays out well)--- PTO
